Following on from her success in the Devon County Championships, Exmouth student Esmé Wykes was back in action at Millfield swimming pool at the weekend.
Swim England's South West Regional Championships took place over two consecutive weekends at Hengrove & Millfield swimming pools.
The competitors had to achieve tough qualification times to be eligible to race against the strongest swimmers throughout the region.
Over the two weekends, Ms Wykes competed in nine different events and went on to qualify for five finals.
The most notable final was the 200m butterfly thriller where she managed to knock off a huge 15.15 seconds from her personal best, putting herself in strong contention for the summer nationals in Sheffield.
Of the two weekends, Ms Wykes secured the South West Regional Championship in the 50m Freestyle event and went on to bring home four silver medals in the 200m, 100m and 50m Butterfly and the 100m Freestyle races.
