MORE exciting announcements for Somerset Armed Forces Day have been made and details have been released for the main stage performers.
The highly acclaimed ‘Forces Sweetheart’, Kirsten Orsborn will be singing live.
Singing from just age 7, she has performed all over the world and received awards for not just her singing but her charity work, performing for our troops and veterans, and being adopted by the Royal Marines as their Forces Sweetheart.
She will be bringing her mix of Swing, Jazz, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Twist, Motown, and Soul, right through to Disco, Dance, and Pop to the Tone FM Stage in Vivary Park on Saturday, July 6 and you can hear her totally free at this fantastic community event in celebration of our Armed Forces worldwide.
Also appearing will be the Soldiers of Swing, first seen on Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 when they auditioned and reached the semi-finals.
That didn’t stop Vince and Lee though, they continued their singing and releasing an album.
They first met in the Army Reserves and discovered a love of music which is keeping them busy now, having been performing together for five years.
You can hear their distinctive style of big band swing and it’s definitely not old fashioned.
The wonderful Blitz Time Sally will be singing her favourite 1940s songs from the stage too.
The Taunton’s Rock Choir will be performing to the crowd, the UK’s original and award-winning, local, contemporary choir experience.
All these events will be happening in Vivary Park on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
