A MENTAL health charity has partnered up with a number of sports stars to promote the importance of moving more for our mental health.
Mind in Somerset is running the campaign in aid of Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from May 13 to May 19, which was established by the Mental Health Foundation.
In honour of the week's theme, which is 'movement: moving more for our mental health', Mind in Somerset is working with the likes of:
- Robbie Fowler;
- Sir Ian Botham;
- Wes Brown;
- Ben Duckett;
- Danny Care;
- Ryan Giggs;
- Tom Banton;
- Charlotte Edwards;
- Danni Wyatt;
- Danielle ‘Nolli’ Waterman.
The public figures will make videos to detail what they do to help with their mental health.
Dan James, a fundraiser for the charity, came up with the idea to contact the personalities. Dan said: “People take notice when celebrities and influencers speak out so getting their support was vital to spreading the word and encouraging people to not feel they are on their own."
