A FUNDRAISER for a Somerset children's charity has retired after raising over £10million in her 38 year career.
Carole Headley, who has worked as a fundraiser for Brainwave for the past twelve years, has raised money for various charities across the nation.
For her work with Brainwave, a Somerset-based children's charity, Carole has worked closely with patron Olly Murs, rubbed shoulders with HRH Duchess of Edinburgh and Happy Monday’s legend Rowetta.
She has even cooked alongside gourmet chef and TV presenter, Simon Rimmer.
Reflecting on Carole’s extraordinary contribution, Keith Sinclair, CEO of Brainwave, said: “Carole has poured her heart and soul into furthering our charitable objectives and her impact has been immeasurable.
"Whilst Carole’s departure will leave a huge gap, as she embarks on this new chapter of her life, we wish her all the best of luck.
"We also take this opportunity to celebrate her unparalleled achievements and the countless lives she has touched.
"Thank you Carole, it has been a privilege to work with you.”
In her own words Carole said: “I’ve thought long and hard about making this decision, but it really is the right time for me to enjoy more time with my husband, children, and grandchildren and of course my two rescue dogs.
"I am even going to focus my efforts on turning my garden into a lovely relaxing green space to relax and enjoy in the coming summer months.”
