POLICE in Wincanton helped rescue a rogue cow and seized a number of vehicles during a "busy week" last week.
Speaking at the weekend (Sunday, May 5), a spokesperson from the South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team said: "It's been a busy week for Wincanton NPT, here's an insight on what they have been up to this week:
"Proactive patrols where we have seized a number of vehicles for document offences including having no insurance and no tax.
"Issued interventions for a number of youths that have been causing anti-social behaviour and crime in the local area through the use of warning letters and with the assistance of the Youth offending team.
"A driver was issued a Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 after driving anti-socially in Wincanton high street, this was for causing harassment, alarm and distress to residents and other drivers in the area.
"A dog has been seized by the team with the assistance of the dog unit in response to an incident of it being dangerously out of control causing injury to a person. The owner has been interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.
"Attended multiple 999 calls to both concern for welfares and road related incidents across our district.
"We even dealt with a rogue cow that found its way onto the A303."
