A FROME cocktail bar has been named Best Bar in the Muddy Stilettos Awards for Dorset, Somerset and Bristol.
HydeAway, which describes itself as a "hidden bar", has said that it is "mind-blowing" to win the award, which aims to highlight local businesses that go above and beyond to stand out and impress their customers.
The winners were told of their success on Thursday, May 2.
A total 515,000 votes were cast nationally, with businesses across the country being recognised for their efforts.
Mr Hyde, otherwise known as Adam Way, said: "I have been chasing this award for over 10 years now and since opening HydeAway we have made the finals every year (third time) but finished in second both times.
"To finally tip the balance and bring home our second “Best Bar” award in less than three years is just mind blowing and it’s hard to comprehend exactly what has been achieved.
"I’m so very proud of our little team who always work hard to deliver an outstanding experience and to put up with my creative yet chaotic energy.
"Having grown up in Frome it’s an honour to be part of this community of passionate people who are raising the profile and making it a delicious place to live."
A spokesperson from the Muddy Stilettos Awards said: "Well, that was fun!
"The cocktail glasses were overflowing as the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2024 romped to a close last week, having reached a mind-blowing 10 million people nationally over 8 weeks and 515,000 votes cast. I know, bonkers!
"Now in their 11th year, we've always proudly run the Muddy Awards - this year sponsored nationally by Tide - on the basis of being free for all businesses to take part and it's still as thrilling as ever to shine a light on brilliant lifestyle indies that make our lives so much more fun and vibrant."
Some other local award winners include Frome's Black Swan Arts in the Arts, Culture, and Theatre Venue category, as well as the The High Pavement in the Casual Dining section. Bronwyn's Baby in Wells was also awarded in the Children's Business section.
