The 108th Wivey Show returns to Wiveliscombe for its annual show this year.
It will take place at the Rec on Saturday, August 17.
The event has undergone significant growth since its revamp two years ago.
With more than 200 classes open to participants, this year's festivities are projected to attract more attendees.
The annual show committee has meticulously reviewed popular classes and those in need of reinvigoration.
The Flower, Fruit and Vegetable section has experienced tremendous growth, becoming a central attraction in the main marquee.
However, the Handicraft, Cookery, and Children’s sections have witnessed declining popularity, with the committee hopeful that newly introduced activities will spark a resurgence.
Significantly, all classes will be free this year.
Commenting on the change, chairman Kirsty Boutflower said: "We have decided to trial it for a year and see how well it is received.
"It became quite a balancing act with the entry money not covering the prize money, so we have removed both although winners will still get certificates and cups as before”.
In addition to the traditional categorises of Fine Art, Floral Art, Photography, and Poetry, there will be side shows, stalls, children’s competitions, and lots of family-friendly activities on offer.
Ms Boutflower added: “The show was incredibly well supported by the local community who attended in large numbers, so we are hopeful that those who attended but didn’t partake last year might be encouraged to participate this time, particularly the children.
"We even have the Vegetable That Went Wrong back – ironically I won it last year with a disastrous corn on the cob”.
The show preserves its status as a vibrant part of the community, annually redirecting a portion of its proceeds back into the town through donations.
Visitors will also be entertained with musical performances by local bands, games, popular demonstrations, and the symbolic Wandering Wanda, the show's mascot, now outfitted in local Wivey Tartan.
The show opens from 12pm till 5pm with an admission fee coverable by the programme purchase.
Excitingly, there will be a £50 cash prize for one lucky member of the public.
Parking is available only for disabled visitors; others are encouraged to utilise the nearby Croft Road car park.
For the maintenance of the event venue, the Rec, only service dogs will be allowed.
