An art exhibition celebrating the rich history and culture of Glastonbury is coming to the Heart of The Tribe Gallery.

It will showcase work from a variety of artists, offering an immersive experience symbolising the essence of the town.

The exhibition starts on May 17, with an opening event planned on May 18 from 2pm to 4pm, providing an opportunity for guests to meet the artists and enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco.

Artists have derived inspiration for their pieces from various aspects of Glastonbury, from the iconic silhouette of Glastonbury Tor to the bustling streets of the town centre.

A wide array of mediums, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, can be witnessed, each one representing a thread in Glastonbury's rich tapestry.

Gallery owner Julian said: "At its core, this exhibition is a celebration of Glastonbury's spirit.

"We wanted to create an experience that not only showcases the beauty of our town but also delves deeper into the essence of what makes Glastonbury truly unique".

The exhibition's highlights include pieces by the late local artist Harry Brockway, renowned for his intricate woodcuts capturing Glastonbury's enigmatic landscapes, the work of several core artists of the gallery, and work from artists completely new to Heart of The Tribe.

A competition held by the gallery culminated in Mort Sparrow winning the prestigious front window display.

Julian continued: "We really enjoyed holding the competition, it was a great way to see a wonderfully diverse body of work, and it is something we will definitely be interested in running again in the future".

As Glastonbury prepares to welcome summer visitors, anticipation grows for this exhibition, which promises to be a tribute to the beloved town.

Whether a seasoned art lover or just fascinated by Glastonbury's magic, Heart of The Tribe welcomes everyone to experience this extraordinary exhibition.

As always, attendance is free.
