THE Conservative MP candidate for Glastonbury and Somerton has launched a campaign to celebrate Somerset's "wonderful" food.
Faye Purbrick hopes to celebrate the brilliant brands that can be found across the area like West Country Water Buffalo, Hecks Cider, or the Little Bakery Langport’s quiche.
As part of the campaign, which follows on from Somerset Day, a survey has been created on her website to give locals a platform to share their favourite venues.
The results will be published as a summer showcase to promote local businesses.
Faye Purbrick said: “Everyone who knows me can be in no doubt about my love of food and exploring new flavours. From my time living and working overseas, I’ve been lucky enough to try a whole host of foods and flavours. But nothing tastes as good as home.
“Somerset has some of the best cheeses in the world, amazing ciders, and local bakeries and farm shops galore.
“As the MP candidate for Glastonbury and Somerton, I am constantly moving between our market towns and villages and discovering even more amazing food producers and favourites to try or to gift to friends and family."
