MOTORISTS are being warned of delays on the M5 between Taunton and Wellington after a single-vehicle collision.

The collision to the hard shoulder closed two lanes earlier this evening (Sunday, May 19).

Avon and Somerset Police and National Highways were on the scene.

National Highways South West said the collision has now been cleared.

The traffic authority also said there are delays of up to 30 to 35 minutes.

Motorists are asked to allow time for delays to ease as there are around three miles of congestion.

A message from National Highways South West said: "Collision cleared to the hard shoulder and all lanes are open #M5 northbound between J26 (Wellington) and J25 (Taunton).

"Please allow time for delays to ease, approx. three miles of congestion. Add an extra 45 minutes on to your current journey time, if travelling in the area."
