TWO women were killed yesterday in a crash which took place on an A-road in Somerset.
Two cars and a lorry were involved in a collision on the A361 Marston Road, near Frome, which saw the road closed between the Nunney Catch and Marston Road roundabouts for around nine hours.
Emergency services were first called to the scene at around 3:10pm.
The driver and passenger of a silver Ford were both sadly pronounced deceased at the scene, and one occupant of a Land Rover was taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road reopened at approximately 12:05am after collision investigation work was carried out and the road had been cleared.
Avon and Somerset Police are asking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward and assist with their investigations.
A spokesperson said: "Motorists in the area who witnessed what happened, or may have relevant dashcam footage, are asked to please contact us online or on 101 and quote reference number 5224139063."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) added: “We were called at 15:11hrs on Thursday, May 30, to a road traffic incident near Frome.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, one critical care car, an operations officer and an air ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital, Bath."
