TAUNTON'S newest gym LIFT is "filling a gap" in the town's fitness offerings with group strength training.
LIFT, located at 14 Cornishway, is a strength training studio offering small group and one-to-one personal training for all abilities.
Owner and personal trainer Tom Osmond, 30, from Taunton, previously worked training Olympic athletes at the UK Sports Institute. He has also worked with the Manchester City Women's team, and started his career at the Somerset County Cricket Club.
Prices start from £12.50 per session, with a discount when booking multiple classes. In June LIFT is offering 20% off for new sign-ups.
Tom said: "The gap that LIFT fills is between commercial gyms with good facilities but not great coaching or training programmes and at the other end CrossFit and stuff with a higher barrier to entry.
"We sit in the middle ground and offer a great training programme with lots of coaching and support. It's much more affordable than personal training, but it still provides you with a really good service."
Sharing a post to Facebook, Tom wrote: "This has been a far harder (and longer!) process than I thought it would be, but in nine months I’ve gone from personal training in my parent’s garage with zero clients, to opening up my very own strength and conditioning gym.
"I can’t wait to share it with you all and take you all on the next steps of the journey!"
