GREAT British Bake Off star Val Stones will be baking to celebrate one year of the Bold & Brave Café.
Young Somerset will celebrate the first birthday of the Bold & Brave Café in Taunton Library from 9:30am on Friday June 7, with the Bake Off star bringing along a birthday cake.
Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy 10% off all of the café's offerings. Bake Off star, Val Stones, will join from noon for the main party — a tombola will be drawn at 1pm.
Young Somerset's open invitation reads: "We would love you to join us, and Bake Off star Val Stones, to mark the occasion.
"We have had an incredible first year with almost 20,000 hot drinks, 3,000 cold drinks, 7,500 cakes and 3,500 hot meals sold.
"We have had approximately 40 young people working in the café as either part of an apprenticeship, casual hours contract, or work experience. Most of these have successfully moved on to meaningful employment or training.
"We hope to see you there, whether you are a regular customer, or want to come and try us for the first time! No need to book, just turn up."
The Bold & Brave Café, located on Paul Street, will also launch its summer menu on the day.
