A FILMMAKER from Wellington is bringing his latest creation to the town this summer.
Jem McCluskey of Reflexeye has teamed up with two times BAFTA-winning director Michael B Clifford to produce Chasing The Sun.
It is set to screen at the Wellesley on June 13, 2024.
The film is a three-year labour of love by Mr McCluskey and a small team.
It's described by James Spender of Cyclist Magazine as "Inspiring and joyful, a love letter to the humble bicycle and all who ride one."
Broadcaster and cycling champion Jeremy Vine hailed it as: "Inspiring and very enjoyable!
"A pinch of astrophysics with a host of endearing characters."
The story uncovers extraordinary personal tales of ordinary cyclists, exploring the power of the bicycle to transform lives and save the planet.
It delves into a 1973 experiment at a little-known American university, showing that the most energy efficient creature is, astonishingly, a human on a bicycle.
Contributors to the film include ITV’s Tour de France commentator Ned Boulting, author and blogger Jools Walker, artist Sir Richard Long, and mountain bike world champion Tracy Moseley.
Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with the film's contributors and members of the production team.
