ESSENTIAL maintenance work is being carried out by Somerset Council on the B3224 next week near Withiel Florey.

A section of road between Blagdon Lane and the Withiel turn-off is being resurfaced.

This is happening from Monday, June 10 to Thursday, June 13, and will need a road closure between 9.30am and 3.30pm on those days.

Outside of these hours, the road will be open as normal but road users need to be aware that the surface is uneven with covers in place as work will be in progress.

The team will ensure disruption is minimised as much as possible.

A diversion will be in place while the road is closed.

You can find information on that here: Roadworks and travel information (somerset.gov.uk).

Work was originally planned for later in the year but a postponed scheme elsewhere in the county has freed up resources and it means the essential maintenance can be done before the summer tourist season starts up in full.
