Taunton's Cross Keys Connect petrol station is to install eight new electric vehicle charging bays, following planning approval.
Electric vehicle owners will be pleased to hear that the town will gain another charging location at the BP-owned garage on Minehead Road, Norton Fitzwarren.
The planning application was approved on June 6, with permission given for the "installation of four EV charging stations" forming "eight EV parking bays".
Planning proposal documents state: "Installation of 4 No. EV charging stations for 8 No. EV parking bays, including sub-station, enclosure, lighting, feeder pillars, fencing/gates and making good hardstanding/surfacing at Cross Keys Connect, Minehead Road, Norton Fitzwarren."
In the decision notice, planning officers reminded the applicant of the limited opening hours permitted for the station. It stated: "The premises shall not be open for business, nor shall supplies of fuel be delivered thereto, outside the hours of 06.00hrs – 23.00hrs."
