Residents and staff at a Wellington care home celebrated the 80th anniversary of D-Day in the sunshine.
Nynehead Court was also visited by a BBC film crew reporting on Richard Willis, a veteran injured during Operation Overlord.
Residents were treated to a traditional cream tea followed by sparkling wine.
Entertainment was provided by a duo performing wartime songs.
A classic American jeep was also on display.
Joanne Fenn, manager of Nynehead Court, expressed the significance of the celebrations.
She said: "Many of our residents have their own memories of D-Day, and it was important to mark this momentous event in history.
"The weather was kind to us, so we could hold our celebrations outdoors to make it even more special."
Nynehead Court provides residential, respite and close care housing for elderly people.
Situated in an 18-acre parkland, the care home has capacity for 44 residents and 11 retirees or couples in the Mews.
Nynehead Court has an excellent reputation.
The Mulberry Lounge is especially popular for those needing more support, with a high ratio of staff to residents.
Its 11 close care mews houses give the option of extending home ownership and independent living, while assuring complete care and security when needed.
