A health and safety firm has created a bespoke CPR-friendly playlist for this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The playlist, curated by Rhino Safety, uses chart-topping tunes with a steady rhythm to assist in performing chest compressions during life-saving procedures.

These songs, characterised by their 100-120 beats per minute (BPM), include hits from artists such as Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Camila Cabello.

The playlist's inception was spurred by recent statistics revealed by the British Heart Foundation.

The data showed that nearly half of UK adults (43 per cent) have never learnt CPR.

58 per cent of these respondents revealed that no one in their households knew the life-saving procedure either.

Simon Walter, director of Rhino Safety, expressed significant concern over these figures: "Festival health and safety has been a growing issue in recent years.

"While festival organisers work incredibly hard to create safe environments for attendees, getting medical help for people in distress can be a challenge."

“Life-saving skills like CPR provide on-the-spot intervention which can increase a person's chances of survival until help arrives."

Encouraging festival-goers to learn and refresh these essential skills, he recommends the RevivR app by British Heart Foundation for free 15-minute training.

Noting the pivotal role music could play in learning life-saving skills, Mr Walter said: "To be effective, chest compressions should be delivered at 2-second intervals, which is roughly 100-120 BPM.

"Performing compressions to a song with a BPM in this range can help maintain a steady rhythm."

To aid festival goers, Rhino Safety has created first aid playlists for the major UK festivals this year, including Glastonbury.

The top five tracks for the Glastonbury Festival First Aid Playlist feature Dua Lipa's 'Dance The Night' (110 BPM), Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' (120 BPM), 'Havana' by Camila Cabello (105 BPM), Ayra Starr's 'Commas' (100 BPM) and 'City Boys' by Burna Boy (100 BPM).
