Taunton Vale Rotary Club has donated £15,000 to the Somerset Counselling Centre.
The money was raised by the club over the past year at events such as the Moonraker Challenge, Charity Golf Day and a Fun Fundraising Quiz.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the trustees, Zillah Morris thanked the Rotarians for their efforts in raising the funds. She said the donation would help the centre to continue with its work providing affordable, quality one-to-one counselling, and contribute to the cost of training additional counsellors. She added that demand for help with mental health issues remains at a high level.
Speaking of behalf of Taunton Vale Rotary Club, current President Martin Lock said: "I'm delighted that the club has been able to donate such a significant amount to Somerset Counselling Centre, and am sure that the money will make a real difference and hopefully help many people.
"The donation highlights the power of Rotary to change lives, and in particular shows what can happen when a group of like-minded people come together with the objective of helping their local community - whilst having fun at the same time!"
