IT is your last chance to nominate a hardworking farmer for the 2024 South West Farmer Awards.
After a tough year for those in the industry, especially with the horrendous weather, we want to know all about the rays of sunshine who have worked hard through a difficult few months.
Now in their eighth year, the awards give the West Country farming community a chance to stand up and be recognised for putting food on our plates.
Supported by industry experts, the awards give local farmers, suppliers, breeders, and everyone involved in the industry the recognition they deserve for their tremendous work.
The 2024 categories are as follows:
- Sheep Farmer of the Year
- Beef Farmer of the Year
- Dairy Farmer of the Year
- Family-Run Farm of the Year
- Sustainability Champion Award
- The Diversification Award
- Inspirational Woman in Agriculture
- Young Farmer of the Year
- Student of the Year
- New Entrant or Tenant Farmer of the Year
- Outstanding Achievement
- The Woodland Hero Award (new for 2024)
Nominations for the South West Farmer Awards 2024 will close on July 31, so make sure to get your applications in as soon as you can.
