EVERCREECH'S Bruton Road is due for a temporary closure by Somerset County Council.
The section of Bruton Road - stretching from the junction with High Street, eastward for 335 metres in the Parish of Evercreech - will be closed to all traffic.
It was revealed in a public notice posted on the Public Notice Portal on Thursday, June 20.
Somerset Council is exercising its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Section 14 [1]) to prohibit all traffic on the road, a move revealed on the Public Notice Portal.
The order, which will last for 18 months, is set to start on July 4, 2024.
The physical works, however, are expected to take eight days, from July 9 to July 16, 2024 between 12am to 11.59pm.
During this period, residents are urged to visit One.Network for details on alternative routes.
For those interested in closures more than two weeks in advance, you will need to register for free with One.Network.
These works will allow OCU to undertake excavation tasks necessary to clear blockages and install chambers on behalf of broadband network provider, Gigaclear.
OCU - the outfit executing the task - is reachable via 0845 303 8615.
They urged those calling to mention reference number ttro474678E for more information about the works.
