SOMERSET Armed Forces Day has returned to Taunton's Vivary Park – and there is plenty to see and do.
The popular free event is taking place today (Saturday, July 6) and will see a flypast from the Red Arrows between 1.15pm and 1.45pm.
A planned flyover from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, due to take place at around 4pm, has been cancelled, but there are lots of other entertainment options.
Stallholders from all over the county have set up their pitches and there is food, drinks, cakes, cookies and more on offer.
This afternoon will also see performances from Glastonbury Town Band (2pm) and the Taunton Concert Band (3.45pm).
Visitors can check out the Jamie Squibb Motorcycle Stunt Show at 4.15pm and take in the closing ceremony from 5.45pm.
Before the event, an Armed Forces Day spokesperson said: “We are hugely proud of our military links here in Taunton, especially that of 40 Commando, given the honour of Freedom of the Borough of Taunton Deane in 2003 by Taunton Deane Borough Council.”
The event was opened by Gideon Amos in his first official engagement since being elected as the MP for Taunton and Wellington.
