The Rotary Club of Brue Valley will hold its annual charity golf day at Wheathill Golf Club.
Teams from across Somerset are being called upon to participate in the event, which is set to take place on September 12, 2024.
Up to 24 teams are expected to navigate the 18-hole course in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
All participants will be rewarded with a breakfast bap upon arrival and will have the opportunity to compete for the longest drive and closest shot to the pin.
The event culminates in an afternoon prize giving ceremony, accompanied by a two-course buffet, during which a dozen prizes will be distributed, including awards for the top three teams.
The Brue Valley Club, serving the market towns of Bruton, Castle Cary, and Wincanton, has been a long-term advocate for CHSW.
The upcoming golf event reflects their ongoing commitment, particularly following last year's inaugural golf day which raised a commendable £3,700 for CHSW.
Golf day co-ordinator and rotary club member Andrew Moore said: "Last year’s event was a huge success and everyone had a fun day.
"We were keen to get back out on the fairways again this year and raise even more money for the children’s hospice."
Local companies have shown enthusiastic support for the event, with South West Building Solutions Ltd sponsoring the event and CRS Building Supplies backing the course.
There are also a plethora of businesses sponsoring each individual hole.
Mr Moore further highlighted the club's affinity for CHSW, stating: "Raising money for Children’s Hospice South West, which does such incredible work, is an easy decision for us.
"We are all inspired and amazed by the work which goes on there."
CHSW area fundraiser Kylie Gallagher added: "CHSW is delighted to have the continued support of the Rotary with this much-loved event which was so enjoyed last year by all those who took part.
"We are looking forward to joining them again for the day to support and encourage all golfing enthusiasts."
Tickets are priced at £47 per player, with a reduced rate of £37 for Wheathill Golf Club members.
For those eager to join the day, tickets can be purchased from www.bruevalleyrotary.org/golfday or by contacting 07872 500761 or gilf@bruevalleyrotary.org.
