A SECTION of the A358 near Triscombe is set to close for two nights in August for roadworks.
Somerset Council have approved the road's closure for "surface dressing patching (stud removal)". The closure will come into force between 7pm and 6am on the nights of August 3 and August 4. It will reopen at 6am on August 5.
The A358 will be closed at Greens Hill, 85 meters southeast of the junction with Triscombe Lane, and the adjoining A358 Flaxpool Hill will be closed 375 meters northwest of the Triscombe Lane junction.
Work is only due to be carried out at night during the road closures, with the "highway clear outside of these hours".
Owner of The Farmers Arms at Combe Florey, said: "Based on previous works by Somerset County Highways, the signage and diversions provided, have been less than adequate.
"Tourists are confused when they reach Cross Keys at Taunton and are faced with a road ahead closed sign, with no clear definition as to where the road is actually closed."
