Summerfield Homes has been working on creating a greener future for its Killams Park community.

They have pointed out the environmental benefits of the site, nestled on the outskirts of Taunton, with less than 10 per cent of properties still available for purchase.

Since its beginnings in 2016, the project has focused on producing an environmentally-conscious lifestyle for its residents.

By the time Phase 3 concludes, the development will comprise 320 homes, set within open spaces and blending in with the neighbouring countryside.

Covering 22 hectares, Killams Park reserves eight hectares for wildflower strips and grass areas, promoting local wildlife.

The company is planning for more than 1,100 new trees, with the addition of a new orchard.

Footpaths will connect all areas allowing families to explore the park without crossing main roads.

For further protection of wildlife, Summerfield Homes has installed bird and bat boxes in their new homes and earmarked space for a wildlife corridor.

In addition to this, Phase 3 will feature allotments and a play area.

Managing director at Summerfield Homes, Ed Khodabandehloo said: "It's a testament to everyone involved in the development of Killams Park that it's become such a sought-after and diverse place to live."
