TAUNTON Flower Show 2024 is set to take place on August 2 and 3 this year, and we’re looking ahead to one of the most anticipated parts of the show, the Artisan Village.
Returning for its second year at the show, the artisan village was launched in 2023, located in the Wilton Lands area of Vivary Park.
Thanks to a well-received debut, there has been a ‘massive increase’ in bookings from traders this year - according to organisers - which has led to a bigger and better marquee area for this year’s show.
The village highlights and promotes local designers, artists, makers and food traders, who can display their handmade and locally sourced products.
The main entertainment stages hosted by ToneFM are also found within the Artisan Village, with lots of acts, including a select few community groups to entertain crowds.
A spokesperson added: “The Artisan Village brings together some of the very best crafting in the area, our locally produced food traders and rural crafts.
“You will have the opportunity to see their hand-made work and to buy high quality, unique and tasty items.
“While the majority of traders in the Village are from Somerset and Devon, this year we are also pleased to welcome people from other parts of the west country
“It is always busy and bustling, and is an exciting place for those visiting Taunton Flower Show.”
Judges Carole Smith MBE and Linda Dennis will be deciding on the best food and craft stands in the Artisan Village for the duration of the flower show.
Over 70 traders will have stalls set up in the village, some of which include:
- Brew Planet. Multi awarding-winning loose-leaf tea, matcha and coffee.
- Creamberry Artisan. A home-based baking business with award winning free-from products, mostly Mediterranean cuisine and also some authentic classics. All products are vegan and nearly all of them are gluten free.
- Glastonbury Cheese. Artisan west country Glastonbury cheeses from the land where cheddar began.
- Infinity Neckwear. Handmade infinity scarves, neck scarves and accessories.
- Isla-Rose. Making memory bears from preloved clothes, as well as soft furnishings and pebble art.
- Penelope's Child. Naturally dyed and botanically printed textiles including clothing and accessories, silk ribbon and embroidery threads.
- Hush CBD. CBD-infused self-care products.
