A POPULAR Somerset pub located in an area described as a 'gateway' to the countryside has reopened under new operators.
The Thatched Cottage Inn, in Shepton Mallet - best known for its quaint appearance brought about by a thatched roof and patio beer garden area - went on the market for rent in January 2024.
Over half a year later, the pub has been taken over, and officially reopened on Wednesday, July 10.
When Greene King Pubs first advertised the venue for new operators earlier this year, a spokesperson said: "The successful new operator will continue to deliver a great food offer whilst growing the function and letting rooms side of the business.
"There are also further opportunities to increase summer trade by improving the external trade areas."
The inn has become a favourite among locals to the area, with 4.3 stars out of five on Google from almost 500 reviews, many commending the venue's cosy atmosphere, and food offering.
