A British drinks company has come under fire online after being listed as a partner for the hosts of Trump's Republican National Convention.

Fever-Tree has faced a backlash on X after it appeared on the MKE (Milwaukee) 2024 Host Committee website.

Fever-Tree Drinks PLC produces premium drink mixers and was founded by Charles Rolls and Tim Warrillow in 2004.

Based in west London, it makes a variety of beverages, including tonic water, ginger beer and lemonade which are are manufactured in Somerset.

But it has been now sent a series of angry tweets for its links to Trump's Republican convention.

It says it has simply been providing mixers to the event.

One angry customer posted on X: "If you are for whatever ridiculous reason sponsoring the Republican National Convention, this will be the last time I purchase your products.

"You have 24 hours to make a statement and withdraw any and all political sponsorship."

One user even questioned whether the company "cared that an event promoting insurrection, racism, homophobia and hates women's rights is actively promoting that you guys sponsor them".

On the MKE (Milwaukee) 2024 Host Committee website a banner bears the message, "Thank you to our partners," which includes Fever-Tree.

It also includes logos for America First, the American Petroleum Institute, and Turning Point USA, as well as US-based beverage suppliers like Starbucks and American Beverage.

Another X user stated that they had "just seen you're a sponsor of the RNC convention" and they "will not be buying any more of your products".

Responses from the brand's X account claimed that they "haven't sponsored the convention" and "provide drinks to lots of different events across the US every year; by doing so we are not endorsing any political party and we do not have any political affiliations".

Fever Tree claim that the backlash is part of a "misunderstanding" - and that their agreement rests only with the separate Milwaukee Host Committee to supply beverages to various events across the city, and say they are not affiliated with any political party.

The committee describes itself as "a nonpartisan entity created to work with the City of Milwaukee in preparing for and successfully producing the Republican National Committee (RNC) convention".

A spokesperson said: "Fever-Tree does not have any political affiliations and we are not a sponsor of the Republican Party.

"We are a supplier to some of the venues that are hosting events during the Republican convention in Milwaukee this week and as part of our on-going support to these venues have agreed to provide additional product for some of these events in the same manner with which we provide drinks and support to thousands of events and accounts around the world.

"In doing so we are working with the Milwaukee Host Committee which is a nonpartisan entity who work on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and not the Republican Party itself.

"Please be in absolutely no doubt that the provision of product to our accounts is not an endorsement of any political party."
