A MAJOR road between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet will close overnight for two weeks next month.
The A361 Edgarley Road near Millfield Prep School will shut between the hours of 11pm and 6:30am during weekdays between August 5 to 16, a total of nine nights, for resurfacing works.
A stretch of Edgarley Road towards Havyatt will be closed from the junction with Ashwell Lane to the junction with Wick Lane. The closure extends into Wick Lane from the junction with Havyatt, northwards for 50 metres. In total a distance of 790 metres is closed.
The phased resurfacing works will enable Kier to carry out "jetting works" on behalf of Somerset Highways.
A diversion will take drivers through West Penard, Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Croscombe, Coxley and Glastonbury.
