DOG owners in Somerset are invited to a new dog event in Frome, which will include parkour, dog treats, and more.
Held by the Frome Town Council and Charismatic Pets, the dog show promises a “fun, free dog parkour” as well as a “have-a-go-hoopers session on the day".
The event will take place at the Old Showfield, Frome on Saturday, August 17 from 3 - 5pm, with every dog who takes part receiving a rosette for trying out the course.
The event comes about following the success of a past event from Charismatic Pets in April.
In addition to running the event on the day, Charismatic Pets will also have their pop-up pet shop offering a range of natural dog treats and chews.
Along with the show, preliminary plans for a new dog will be shown with drawings of the proposal produced by the Frome Town Council’s Environment team.
Councillor Mark Dorrington is looking forward to the event and anticipates that many people will be in attendance due to the popularity the venue has with local dog walkers.
Dorrington said: “The Old Showfield is very popular with dog walkers, so as you’d expect, there were a lot of conversations about exercising dogs in the space across all the engagement events.
“The team from Charismatic Pets ran a really fun, successful event in April and we hope lots of people will come along and help us develop the plans for the dog area.”
Event planners have said that if the weather is too hot then the event will be cancelled so anyone planning to attend is advised to follow the Facebook event or look out for notices at the Showfield for updates.
