A YOUNG dog who was hit by a van and suffered severe pelvic injuries is back on her feet thanks to the skills of the Cave Veterinary Specialists and her dedicated owners.
Two-year-old Labrador Ruby needed three operations in one sitting to help repair the damage caused after being hit by a van.
The accident left Ruby receiving multiple pelvic fractures and an abdomen wall rupture, which meant her bladder had been displaced.
Ruby’s owner Paul Burnell was shocked to see how severe Ruby’s injuries were and he was worried about how the surgery would go. He describes Ruby as “a very happy dog.”
Paul said: “We were shocked when we were told the extent of Ruby’s injuries. We were also very concerned as Ruby was having three operations in one go, so it was a very big procedure.
“Now she’s had the operation, she’s becoming more mobile, and we are strictly following Cave’s advice to aid her recovery.”
