STREET'S WHSmith is expected to close early next year, due to "unsustainable" trading at its current location.
The store at 85 High Street is set for closure on January 4, despite ongoing conversations with the store's landlord.
A WHSmith spokesperson said: "Regrettably, it is not sustainable for us to continue trading in this location.
"We remain in discussion with our landlord, however, we expect our store in Street to close in early 2025.”
The Post Office operating within Street's WHSmith will also be forced to close.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “WHSmith which operates Street Post Office has made the difficult decision to close its store on 4 January.
The vacancy is advertised on www.runapostoffice.co.uk and we would welcome interest from local retailers for this business opportunity.”
The nearest Post office following its closure will be the West End Post Office, at 15 West End, in the Morrisons Daily.
