TAUNTON School is set to expand its nursery and pre-preparatory school offering.

The institution’s early years' centres are in line to receive various improvements as part of the campus's broader development masterplan.

Its playground, library, and main entrance are undergoing modifications, and a second room for infants is being added.

The expected completion date for all enhancements is the start of the new academic year in September.

Becky Lewis, head of Taunton Pre-Preparatory School and Nursery, expressed her excitement over the whole process.

She said: "We are so excited about all the developments happening.

"Our Pre-prep School Council have done a wonderful job of helping to design the new library and choosing playground equipment as voted for by their peers.

"The expansion of the pre-prep and nursery begins an exciting new chapter here at Taunton School, enabling us to give more children the very best start in a beautiful, nurturing environment."

External playground specialist Pentagon Play has been brought in to help overhaul the play area, lending their expertise to create a larger, more engaging space for the children.

Meanwhile, the library has received a complete makeover, featuring new woodland-themed furniture, wall art of popular book characters, and a safe, comforting ambiance.

The main entrance of the pre-preparatory and nursery building is also in line for a transformation.

It will serve as a hall for assemblies, ballet lessons, and other activities.

The current plain white walls and vast windows are set to be adorned with a vibrant farmyard scene to captivate the young learners.

The changes are all part of a broader campus masterplan, initiated over two years ago, including a contemporary Sixth Form centre, a new senior school library, and a refurbished dining hall.

In an equally exciting development, two new AstroTurf pitches are set to be unveiled this month, which will enhance the school's hockey provision and allow Taunton School to host national competitions.

The new additions and improvements at Taunton Pre-Preparatory School and Nursery aim to provide better quality child care and education.

They will enable the school to cater to more pupils in improved facilities.

The school accommodates children from six months old and offers wrap-around care for 50 weeks of the year.

The enhancements are part of the institution's commitment to providing the best start in a nurturing, beautiful environment.
