TRAVEL writer and filmmaker Simon Parker is coming to Taunton to look back on his 4,000-mile journey across the USA, from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico by bicycle.

The award-winner will tour UK theatres between September and October.

He will share his solo journey, which was chronicled in a series of films, as well as his own book titled A Ride Across America published on July 18.

His route, from Cape Flattery in Washington to Key West in Florida, allowed him to meet and interact with the rural communities inhabiting America's vast terrains.

The unobstructed view from his bicycle led to encounters with ordinary citizens, who often welcomed him into their homes and workplaces, providing candid insights into America's pulse during the run-up to the presidential election.

Mr Parker covered an average of 80 miles per day, his journey encompassing the wild regions of America, such as the Everglades in Florida and the Rocky Mountains.

Simon Parker: A Ride Across America will arrive at the Taunton Brewhouse Theatre on October 30.

The live show will start at 7.30pm with tickets priced at £16 per person.
