THE Taunton branch of a bank will close temporarily to allow internal building work.
The HSBC branch on North Street will close at 4.30pm on Thursday, August 22 and will reopen on Wednesday, October 23 at 9.30am
The nearest HSBC UK branch with counter service is the one in Exeter, while the nearest Digital Service branch (no counter service) is in Bridgwater.
A spokesperson for HSBC said: “Our Taunton branch is closing temporarily while it undergoes a refresh, which includes internal building work.
“This follows on from a shorter closure period earlier in the year when we had the new multi-function devices installed.”
James Stocks, HSBC UK’s local director, said: “We continue to invest in our branch network to make our customers’ experience banking with us a good one.
“We are pleased that our Taunton branch is getting a refresh, with some painting, new signage and new seated areas for our customers.
“It is going to look fresher and more welcoming to our customers which we are excited about.
"We will be holding regular pop ups in Taunton Library throughout the closure period and customers can continue to use any of our branches with Bridgwater being the closest.”
