A MAN has been arrested after 20 glass panels were broken at a café in a Taunton park.
This morning (Monday, July 29) 17 glass panels on the decking area of the Weir Café in French Weir Park were damaged as well as the three panels on the doors.
Avon and Somerset Police said a 19-year-old was arrested and remains in custody.
A member of staff at the café said it will take around two weeks to replace the glass panels, which currently have been covered with safety films.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "A member of the public reported windows had been broken at a café in French Weir Park, in Taunton, at 6.15am today (Monday 29 July).
"Officers attended and arrested a man approximately 10 minutes later. The 19-year-old remains in police custody.
"Enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage, are ongoing.
"Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact us online or call 101 and provide the call-handler with reference number 5224197212."
