A MAN has appeared in court charged with a string of offences after allegedly going to a property in Street armed with a bow and arrow.
Simon Aspinall, of Tower Lane, Shepton Mallet, was brought before Somerset Magistrates in custody after being arrested following the incident on June 28.
He was charged with offences of aggravated burglary by attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm while armed with a bow and arrow at a property in Quantock Court, Street.
He was also alleged to have been in possession of a bow and arrow in a public place, common assault, making threats to kill and causing criminal damage to a door.
No pleas were entered.
The case was so serious that the magistrates ordered to case to be sent straight to the crown court, sitting at North Somerset Courthouse.
They refused an application for Aspinall to be released on bail and ordered him to be remanded in custody until his next appearance on August 27.
