A pub quiz in Croscombe has raised money towards sending an ambulance full of supplies to Ukraine.
The George, named CAMRA Rural Pub of the Year in 2024, was the venue for the fun-filled event.
Organised by Martyn Starnes, the quiz saw 83 attendees forming 18 teams fill the pub, raising a substantial £750.
Funds raised will be used to take an ambulance equipped with medical supplies to Ukraine, a project warmly supported by Peter Graham, the pub's longstanding landlord.
Quiz participants included Timothy Lethaby, editor of the Somerset County Gazette, as well as his team, friends and family, among others.
Mr Starnes, who serves as the chief executive of the Mendip Community Transport, will be part of a Medical Life Lines Ukraine mission in September.
He will be driving the ambulance all the way to Lviv in western Ukraine, carrying necessary medical supplies and equipment.
On the success of the fundraiser, Mr Starnes said: "I am absolutely delighted by the way the community has supported the quiz, and I would like to thank everyone who came."
