ENGLISH rock band New Model Army are coming to Frome as part of their UK tour.

The band, who were formed in Bradford in 1980, are embarking on their ‘Unbroken’ tour, performing songs from their new album, which was released earlier this year.

The band, spearheaded by lead singer Justin Sullivan, are renowned for their genre-crossing music, drawing on a range of influences including punk, soul, folk, metal and classical.

Sullivan’s songwriting is wide-ranging, with songs often ranging from the personal to the spiritual and political, a key aspect of the band’s appeal over the years.

With the band now into their fifth decade of performing, music lovers and their dedicated fan group, called ‘The Family’, will have the opportunity to go and see them on this latest tour in Frome.

New Model Army will be performing at Cheese & Grain in Frome on October 8, with tickets on sale now.

On a night of excellent live music, fans will be able to hear the band play their new album ‘Unbroken’ live for the first time.

Released in January 2024, the band had started writing the album in 2021 against a backdrop of everything that is happening in a fast-changing world and in their own lives.

The album was mixed by Tchad Blake, who said: “Not much hits me as genuine these days. New Model Army hits it for me.

“Wonderfully recorded and produced by the band themselves, mixing this album felt like a gift.”
