Yeovil entrepreneur, Joanna Buckland, founder of WellBe Link, is offering free mental health first aid training for two people on each of her courses.
Aware of the need for mental health first aiders but aware not all organisations could meet the cost, she launched an initiative aiming to enhance mental health awareness and remove funding barriers.
The complimentary places are available to volunteers across all sectors, ensuring those who donate their time are equipped to handle mental health queries and to offer meaningful support.
The training covers various aspects of recognising signs of mental health problems, addressing them and providing volunteers with the skills necessary to support vulnerable individuals confidently.
The initiative, which has been running for two years, is supported by organisations including HR Star and Pentadel, which sponsor free places when purchasing workplace wellbeing packages.
They have enabled volunteers from companies in Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire, including YCDT and the Watch Project, to access the training.
There are places available on courses running September 16 and 17, October 14 and 15, November 16 and 18, and December 16 and 17.
You can apply for a place by visiting Book Mental Health First Aid Courses | WellBe Link.
