Marie Curie is on the lookout for more volunteers to help with fundraising across Somerset.

Roles include distributing and collecting donation boxes.

The end of life charity's care in Somerset is comprehensive, providing expert comfort at home and free information and support.

Hannah Drury, Marie Curie community fundraiser for Bristol, Bath and Somerset said: "In Somerset, we urgently need volunteers to help with our collections and charity boxes and give more people the opportunity to donate.

"Each box raises an average of £26 – which is more than enough for us to provide an hour of vital nursing care for someone living with an illness they’re likely to die from.

"The roles are flexible, fulfilling and gives volunteers an opportunity to get out into the local community and make a difference.

"We will support you along the way, and together we can help provide better end of life care for everyone in Somerset."

Marie Curie's services last year supported over 44,000 people nationally, and in Somerset, additional assistance like companions proves essential for emotional and practical support.

Volunteers are needed in Ilminster, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Somerton, Crewkerne, Mendip, Bruton and Minehead, but help is welcome from all areas of Somerset.
