A SOMERSET housebuilder has announced its Taunton development has now completely sold out.

The completion brings a close to the housebuilder’s time at the Nerrols Grange development on Nerrols Drive.

David Wilson Homes has sold all 144 three and four-bedroom properties at Nerrols Grange, with the developer providing a flourishing community for a range of homebuyers in the sought-after location near the Quantock Hills.

The business started developing the site in December 2020.

Of those to buy at the site, 41 per cent were first-time buyers and a fifth used the housebuilder’s Part Exchange scheme.

More than 80 per cent of purchases at Nerrols Grange over the last six months have been to key workers.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “As anticipated, Nerrols Grange has been a consistently strong seller, thanks to the location’s appeal and the diversity of homes available.

“We’re incredibly proud of the development’s success - it has grown into a vibrant community which will continue to flourish as the last residents settle in.

"For those who missed the opportunity to buy a home here, we have some great news: the final property is available at our Moorland Gate development in Bishops Lydeard, around six miles away."

Since launching Nerrols Grange, David Wilson Homes South West well-integrated itself into the local community through a range of initiatives including charitable donations to Taunton Women’s Aid, Secret World Wildlife Rescue, Taunton Foodbank, Somerset Community Foundation and Open Door, a day centre in Taunton that serves the town’s homeless community.

Staff also donated 40 books to Nerrols Primary School in Taunton to help pupils celebrate books and encourage young people to discover the joy in reading.

David Wilson Homes South West’s construction manager, Martyn Brooks, also read ‘We Can Build’ to 117 four and nine-year olds – a book written by graduates working at Barratt Developments.

The company contributed more than £1.2m to local education facilities, £498,000 for highways, £70,000 to upgrade ten existing bus stops adjacent to the development, £30,000 for footpaths and funded two pedestrian light-controlled crossings.

Louise added: “These contributions underscore our commitment to deliver exceptional homes and enhance local communities.”
