MEMBERS of the Royal Naval Association's Street branch met for fish and chips in Shepton Mallet this week.
The social lunch took place at Whitstone's Fish and Chip Restaurant on Wednesday, August 14.
The organiser said the food was "excellent" and the service "matched even the strict standards of the Royal Navy".
The Street branch covers all areas of Somerset and meets monthly at the Wessex Hotel in Street.
Current and ex-RN personnel, including WRNS, and reserves are welcome to join.
Mike Jayes, the chairman, can be contacted for more information via SteetRNAChair@gmail.com.
The Royal Naval Association is the biggest collective group of Royal Naval veterans and serving personnel, with over 270 branches in the UK and overseas.
A spokesperson said: "The association provides those with a link to the Royal Navy access to a life-long community of like-minded and supportive individuals.
"Our community provides companionship, resilience, comradeship and unity to anyone and everyone with a Naval story."
