STUDENTS at Holyrood Academy in Chard are celebrating an excellent set of A Level and Level 3 BTEC results achieved by their Sixth Formers.
Headteacher, Dave MacCormick said: "We are delighted with our Sixth Formers’ exam results this year. This set of results is again improved from last year.
"The trend in attainment at all grades is very pleasing with results at A*-A, A*-B and A*-C again being better than last year. Of particular note is our 100% pass rate at A*-E, given that we are a comprehensive Sixth Form.
"The school is delighted that the outcomes its students achieve continue to get better, giving our students opportunities to study at the very best universities, undertake the best apprenticeships and secure the best jobs.
"It is fantastic to see so many of our students achieve their first choice of destination, which is the most important thing.
"I would like to congratulate all of our outgoing Year 13 students and wish them the very best of luck for the future. I would also like to thank our dedicated and talented staff who have supported the students in achieving these great results."
Head of Sixth Form, Liz Hooper, said: "We are hugely proud of our students' achievements this year. Their hard work, resilience, and commitment have truly paid off, and they are leaving us with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the variety of paths they have chosen.
"As a cohort who experienced COVID lockdowns and the first cohort to sit GCSE exams following the pandemic their school career has been far from typical. These results are a testament not only to their efforts but also to the dedicated support of our staff and the partnership with parents and carers.
"We are particularly proud of our 100% pass rate at A-E and the opportunities these results have created for our students. As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, we wish them every success and look forward to seeing the remarkable things they will undoubtedly accomplish."
