ENTRIES were up in all three categories - sheep, cattle and horses - at the 176th Dunster Show earlier this month.
Crowds flocked to the show in Somerset on Friday, August 16, to visit trade stands and enjoy the entertainment and food and drink on offer.
New for 2024 were extra classes in the horse and sheep sections - all of which proved to be popular on the day.
Supreme Champion in the horse section was taken by British Riding Pony Wycroft Gardenia, exhibited and owned by Andrew Pitman.
Supreme Champion Beef exhibit was taken by Andrew Luxton, with his British Blue Heifer Highland Blues Spruce.
Supreme Champion Dairy exhibit was taken by Andrew Fewings and his Holstein Cow Keevil Sprite Panda.
Supreme Champion Sheep was won by Annie Muirhead with her Boarder Leicester Ram.
The livestock competitions were sponsored by Shearwell Data, and the horse section by Porter Dodson.
Visitors also enjoyed browsing the 200 trade stands, which sold everything from tractors to rum.
There was live music on the village green, as well as entertainment with Punch & Judy Shows, a community circus and ferret racing. The Imps Motorcycle Display Team and Hawkeye Falconry entertained the crowds, and guests enjoyed the vintage tractor and car display.
Food outlets were in abundance and there was the Caz bar prodvided by The Rest & Be Thankful Inn at Wheddon Cross. There was also a members enclosure which was sponsored by DJ Miles.
Next year's Dunster Show will be held on Friday, August 15 2025.
