RETURNING legendary rock band Oasis has ended all speculation as to whether or not they will make an appearance at next year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Oasis officially announced their comeback tour yesterday via social media, and they have let fans know the only way to watch the famous duo next year will be at their live tour - not at any festivals.
In a post on Instagram, the band said: “Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2024 or any other festivals next year.
“The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”
They also announced the tour will not be televised.
Liam and Noel Gallagher have made it clear that although there is a big demand for them to perform at a variety of festivals, they will not be taking part in anything but the announced tour.
This means that despite speculation, Oasis is out for being the frontrunner to headline this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
However, Glastonbury's line-up is yet to be finalised and surprise appearances are not unusual.
The band’s 2004 headline slot at Worthy Farm was poorly received.
So far, only UK and Ireland dates for Oasis' world tour have been announced.
They will be playing four dates at Manchester's Heaton Park and four at London's Wembley Stadium.
They'll also be playing two nights at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and another two at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
The last gigs will be in Ireland, at Dublin's Croke Park.
The dates:
4, 5 July - Cardiff, Principality Stadium
11, 12, 19, 20 July - Manchester, Heaton Park
25, 26 July and 2, 3 August - London, Wembley Stadium
8, 9 August - Edinburgh, Murrayfield Stadium
16, 17 August - Dublin, Croke Park
The band said these dates would be their only dates in Europe next year.
But with the tour being a “World Tour”, It's possible more shows could be added in different locations if the initial dates sell out.
