A POPULAR massage therapist in Taunton has relocated after returning from maternity leave.
Holistic Ivy, a business run by Ivy Poole, used to be based at Neals Yard Remedies on St James Street. However, since the closure of Neal's Yard, Ivy has now found a new location further up the street: Nourish Yoga-Fitness-Wellness.
Nourish is situated at the former St James swimming pool site. There is a yoga studio which offers yoga, pilates and barre classes and personal training.
Next to the yoga studio is Ivy's private treatment room, where she offers a range of treatments from Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage to holistic facials.
Ivy is also an independent consultant for Neal's Yard Remedies.
She is currently offering treatments every Thursday and Friday, to book click here.
"Receiving regular massages can promote better self-care habits and is incredibly beneficial for the body in many ways," she said.
"Physically, massage can encourage better posture, alleviate tightness and improve flexibility. It can also improve circulation and can soothe discomfort and help to manage chronic pain conditions.
"Consistent massage therapy can also lower cortisol levels (the body’s stress hormone) and can increase levels of serotonin and dopamine helping to reduce stress and promote relaxation.
"Many people find that massage encourages better sleep quality, leading to deeper and more restorative sleep.
"Overall, incorporating massage into a wellness routine can positively impact both physical and mental health.
"I believe that relaxation is essential for a balanced life. In today’s fast paced world, finding moments of calm is more important than ever, especially after the recent pandemic years. My goal is to create a peaceful environment where you can unwind, recharge, and reconnect with yourself. Each treatment should allow you to release stress and embrace tranquility… even if it’s only for one hour!"
