AS the UK Government launches its New Towns Programme, aimed at delivering 1.5 million new homes over the next Parliament, the South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show is set to make its return at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet.
The event, taking place on November 16 and 17, comes at a crucial time, offering trusted advice, inspiration, and support to help self-builders and renovators to create their dream home.
With housing affordability being a continued challenge, full-time employees in England are now spending approximately 8.3 times their annual earnings in buying a home.
Consequently, self-building and renovation present viable alternatives. In the South West, where house prices are particularly steep, these options offer a more cost-effective route to homeownership.
The show will feature over 140 exhibitors gathering under one roof, showcasing thousands of innovative products and services. This gives visitors the chance to explore the absolute latest in homebuilding technology and design. From energy-efficient solutions to smart-home systems, the event promises to equip attendees with the tools they need to bring their projects to life.
A key attraction at this event has to be the bespoke, one-to-one advice available to book at the Advice centre.
Visitors can book fifteen-minute consultations with a panel of show experts, providing personalised guidance for their building or renovation plans.
Additionally, a series of seminars and masterclasses will be held, covering a range of topics such as: a beginner’s guide to build your own home; the importance of clean air; securing planning permission; an introduction to a truly intelligent home, and enhancing the thermal performance on a renovated home.
Eco-conscious attendees will also benefit from a range of sessions focused on maximising energy efficiently in the home, with specialists on hand to help achieve sustainable energy goals.
The South West Homebuilding & Renovating Show will run from 10am to 5pm on November 16, and from 10am to 4.30pm on November 17.
Those interested in attending can register online for free tickets, offering access to any one day of the show.
