THE Frome Community Bike Project will host a bike jumble at its Station Approach workshop this month.

The jumble will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 10am to 4pm.

The project, which is known for its work promoting cycling in the local community, is clearing out its containers and offering a variety of items for sale.

This includes bike parts, accessories, clothing, and also a selection of bikes that are finished and ready to ride away with.

Director Emma Park said: “We regularly receive donations of bikes and accessories, we have so many that we’re running out of space!

“Come and have a rummage, find a bargain or a rare part, chat to our volunteers about what we do and even find out about getting involved”.

Parker emphasised that the event will feature bikes that are ‘ready-to-go’, as well as frames and wheels for those interested in a DIY project.

Attendees will also have the chance to learn about the project’s various initiatives, which include cycle training, bike rides, e-bike loans, and repair services.

The Bike Jumble will take place at the project’s workshop, located at Station Approach, Frome BA11 1RE.

The entrance can be found behind City Plumbing and next to Frome Reclamation.

Regular opening hours are Wednesday to Friday from 10am until 4pm, and Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm.

However, on September 21, the team will be available until 4pm for the special sale.

The busy weekend continues on the Sunday (September 22), when the Frome Community Bike Project will participate in the Frome Lions Kids Ride event at the Old Showfield.

This family-friendly event encourages children to ride their bikes, scooters, or skateboards, around the track as many times as they can.

The project will be offering free bike safety checks, courtesy of Dr Bike, and even free pedal-powered smoothies for those with enough energy left to power the blender.

As a non-profit Community Interest Company, the Frome Community Bike Project channels all profits back into the community.

Proceeds from the Bike Jumble and other activities will support Frome’s Missing Links, an initiative aimed at creating traffic-free routes around the town.
