Locks Hill in Frome is set to close for three days this month in order to undergo essential roadworks.
Somerset Council, using its power under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to prohibit all traffic from moving along the popular road.
The closure, stretching from the junction with Adderwell Road, south-westwards for 79 metres, will enable Bristol Water to install a new connection.
Works are expected to begin on September 16 and conclude on September 18, operating constantly through each day.
This was revealed in a public notice posted on the Public Notice Portal on August 29.
An alternative route and additional information can be accessed through the website https://one.network/?tm=139046580.
For closures more than two weeks ahead, registration with One.Network is essential and free.
To learn about the works, residents are advised to contact Bristol Water on 0345 702 3797, quoting reference number ttro021761E.
The closure order was warranted due to the works being executed on the road and maintaining public safety, thus preventing likely damage to the road.
